Introducing, Maven’s Monday Musings

Mercury is the Messenger and planet that rules communication, research, curiosity, and the mind. This shift into Gemini is inviting us to rethink how we think.

Mercury entered Gemini yesterday, which is its home sign and my Rising Sign...so I figured it was a great time to start a new structure to get ongoing communication out to you.

Mercury is the Messenger and planet that rules communication, research, curiosity, and the mind. This shift into Gemini is inviting us to rethink how we think.

I know that I'm starting this off with astrology, but my goal with this Monday Musing Newsletter is to get into the meat of my thoughts that don't necessarily connect with the Moon Cycle, which seems to have taken over my newsletters.

I have so much more to share with you and find myself cutting a lot out for sake of focus and not overwhelming you with the hydrant of information that's waiting to burst out of my mind.

Exploring Points for Support at Home

Did you know that acupressure alone or with essential oils can be very effective for supporting balance between acupuncture sessions?

I am one of those weird acupuncturists who don't enjoy needling myself. I LOVE receiving acupuncture from other acupuncturists, but I'm very right hand dominant so it feels really awkward and wrong to needle myself. So, I use essential oils on points. All of the Moon Cycle Acupuncture patterns that I create, I try out on my body every night before bed for at least a week before I share it with you.

In the Alchemical Healing Mentorship, we've been experimenting with applying Bergamot on Liver and GallBladder points, since we're in Spring & Wood element season. I had a really wild experience with feeling the Qi move through the whole GallBladder meridian from the foot all the way up to the eyes when I applied it on a point on my foot.

You don't need to have acupuncturist level understanding of the points and their energy to benefit. A client recently started applying Bergamot to their Ear ShenMen before bed and reported that they've had some of the best sleep of their life on the nights they did.

One of the things I love about the Moon Cycle Acupuncture patterns is many of the points are excellent stand alone points for the season we're in or transitioning into. May Chang, Blue Tansy, Bay Laurel, Bergamot, Vetiver, and Cedarwood are all excellent oil choices for right now...or any oil that you feel drawn to use or makes your nervous system feel rooted, stabilized, or easeful.

Here are a few stand alone points to consider exploring. Remember, bring in some curiosity to what your experience is like. I'd love to know what you experience.

-Connect with your Heart to discover its wisdom & stability.

-See old patterns that create worry & anxiety, find calm, and let go.

Did you know acupuncture can be preventative?

As we begin this transition from Spring to Summer, it's a great time to come in for acupuncture before you start experiencing seasonal issues. Our bodies are always responding to the changes around us. Since the Liver rules the movement of Qi & Blood, we can experience a lot of extra tension, stress, muscle aches, irritability, anger, anxiety, depression, or insomnia during Spring or the transitions in & out of Spring. These are all indications that our body, nervous system, or spirit needs some support returning to our natural balance.

Schedule a private session before June, and you'll receive a complimentary roller bottle of Bergamot, diluted with fractionated coconut oil, and I'll show you the points I recommend.

May you find a moment to pause, breathe, and tune into what your body, Heart, and spirit need in this moment. Be curious. If you need some help quieting the mind, maybe try touching Ear ShenMen or The Place of Tied Thoughts. You are worth it! I hope to see you soon. Sending you so much love!

xx, Vanessa
